BACKGROUND 1

There's a wide selection of classic AC multiple units and their more modern replacements plus a range of mainline diesel locomotives too. You'll also see multiple units running alongside loco-hauled trains into the impressive, recently modernised London Liverpool Street Terminus. Great Eastern also features single track diesel-only branch lines through to high speed non-stop express services. The 1988 -1992 era included the recent completion of 25Kv overhead electrification along the whole route covered. At that time, Class 86 Electric locomotives were starting to replace Class 47 Diesel locomotives on London to Norwich express services. These developments are reflected in this brand new expansion pack.
