GREAT EASTERN SERVICE PACKS

Get more enjoyment from Great Eastern we can now offer you these two service packs updating scenes and routes. You will need to download both service packs as they are both different.

GREAT EASTERN v. 1.1 Sudbury Branch Upgrade (30MB)

This upgrade adds a fully functioning 11.5 mile Sudbury branchline to the retail CD version of Great Eastern.
Also adds extra consists to make more of the supplied (but unused) rolling stock drivable (the original only had consists for items driven in the supplied activities).
This also fixes the Class 37 problem which was introduced in 1.1
This fix also resolves poor braking in some of the EMU's.

More Information

It also adds features to make more of the rolling stock support some of the MSTSBin cab changing features. (more will be added as time goes on)

Other changes included:
Slightly remapped texturing on the Class 150/2 to improve look of the front.
Replaced the default 'Ok to Proceed' sound clip.
Adjusted the vertical positioning of the Class 37 & 47 cabviews.

GREAT EASTERN v. 1.2

Note the existing v1.1 patch should stay.

Great Eastern 1.2 Upgrade (18.4 MB)

Note: this patch requires the earlier upgrade v1.1 to be already installed.

Shortly before Great Eastern was released to the general public a serious structural fault was discovered in a bridge on the Upminster branch. As a result the line had to be closed with a shuttle bus service replacing the trains between Romford and Upminster and the line taken out of use in the released product. The engineers have now finished strengthening the bridge and the line has been passed for a full service to resume. Once you have installed this patch you will find the branch fully open and with five new activities to allow you to make full use of it.

Other enhancements/corrections include:

- More consists added to allow rolling stock to be directly driveable in Explore Mode.
- Corrects a number of problems with braking with some of the units.
- Also addresses a number of other small issues that have been found.

Installation

To install the patch simply extract the files from the downloaded zip file and double click the file GE_Patch_12.exe which can be found in the same folder as this readme file.

This installer will update the route Great Eastern by Making Tracks™ Rail Simulation Software Ltd. For the installer to work correctly you must have version 1.1 of the route installed. This patch replaces the version 1.11 patch that was issued as the files supplied in that version are included in this installer.

The installer will attempt to find your installation of Microsoft Train Simulator that contains your copy of Great Eastern; it will warn you if it is unable to find the route where it expects it to be. You are free to install the patch to another location but will need to manually copy the files into your installation of Great Eastern.

LONDON AND SOUTH EAST - SERVICE PATCH V.1.3

Service Pack 1.3 for London & South East

Service Pack 1.3 is a new Service Pack for London & SouthEast from Making Tracks.
It is not a cumulative fix (i.e. it does not include all the fixes previously released, you will need to have LSE 1.2 installed to benefit from these.)

What's new in 1.3?
Service Pack 1.2 resolved most if not all issues that caused problems in the operation of the route in normal use.
This Service Pack resolves the following issues : Addition of a missing bridge in the Waterloo East area.
Provides a missing AI engine file brought about by installing the Additional Class 33s pack for London & SouthEast. (This file will only be copied if you have installed the additional pack)

What's not in 1.3?
The original intention for this release was to supply entirely new environment files for the route. These increase the light levels during certain seasons / time. Alongside the environment modifications large scale changes to the night / snow textures in the route were also made. Once these changes were complete it was evident that the size of the resulting download could be prohibitive to some users. For this reason the more critical files were included in release 1.3 and the environment files are available as an optional update for London & SouthEast numbered version 1.31

Installation
This fix must be installed onto a system that already has LSE version 1.2 installed (either an original version plus the 1.2 fix, or a LSE 1.2 CD)
PLEASE NOTE : Be aware that once you have installed 1.3, any saved games you might have may not reload.

Service Pack 1.3.1 is an optional Service Pack for London & SouthEast from Making Tracks.
LSE 1.3.1 is an optional fix due to the large file size involved. It does not fix any critical problems, and the choice to download and
install it is entirely yours based on if you can download a 90 MB file easily.

What's new in 1.3?
LSE 1.3.1. modifies the weather 'environment' within the game, hopefully improving the game for your enjoyment. Night and snow textures have been extensively reworked (hence the reason for the file size) to improve the night time and winter driving experience.

Installation
You need to install 1.3.1. after installing 1.3.
